What is a cavity and how do you fix it?
You need to brush your teeth three times a day to remove sugar bugs from your teeth!  If you don't do this you can get cavities (and bad breath!)
Does going to the dentist hurt?
Nope!  If you have a cavity and need a filling Dr. M will give your tooth sleepy juice.  You might feel a small pinch, but then your tooth goes to sleep and doesn't wake up until it is all better!  Getting a check up and a cleaning never hurts.
What happens to me when I go to the dentist?
How many teeth do I have anyway?
Kids have 20 teeth.  Your baby teeth fall out to make room for your grown up teeth.  When you get bigger you will have 32.  That's a lot of teeth to keep clean, so make sure your brushing and flossing!
Is it ok to eat sweets?
It's OK to eats some sweets and drink soda. sometimes.  Just remember, it's because of too much sugar that we get cavities in their teeth, and  nobody like cavities.

To keep healthy, you need to keep sweets to a minimum, and be sure you eat and drink other things as well.  Make sure you brush your teeth and floss too..
A cavity is decay on your teeth.  When your teeth get decay on them it's like a hole.  It will get bigger if you don't get it fixed. Dr. M fixes your tooth by taking away the decayed part and filling the hole in with material that looks like your tooth.

We love when kids come to see us!  When you come into the office you will sit in the big chair.  Either Kerri,  Rachele or Bonnie will look in your mouth.  We need to count your teeth and look at them with our special mirror.  We are looking to make sure you don't have any sick teeth.   You will also get your teeth cleaned with our special tooth brush.  We will put Mr. Thirsty in your mouth so you don't have to worry about swallowing too much water.  Some pictures of your teeth may need to be taken (x-rays).  These special pictures let Dr. Morisseau see the spaces between your teeth; it's important that he sees this area to make sure no cavity bugs are in there.  Doctor M. will also come in to look at your teeth to make sure everything looks good and healthy. When you leave, you will have nice clean shiny teeth and then you get a surprise from the prize box!   There are also lots of toys to play with, books to read, and you can visit our fish friends!
Why do I need to brush my teeth?
